MIPI RFFE IP Core from Arasan
Arasan Chip Systems, Inc. has announced the introduction of its MIPI RFFE product. The standard is currently a 1.0 document. The RFFE was developed by the MIPI standards committee as a means of controlling multiple transceiver systems. RFFE was developed as a standard control for front-end elements of radios such as power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, switches, sensors & antenna tuners.
RFFE uses a two-wire, serial interface connecting radio terminal to front-end modules. The standard defines all the electrical characteristics and protocol requirements for communication among the Masters and Slaves on the bus.
The Radio Frequency Front End (RFFE) is Arasan's most recent product introduction and includes a hardware development kit and software drivers. The products seamlessly integrate to offer a "Total IP Solution" to implementing an REEF MIPI solution.
The Arasan MIPI RFFE Solution provides IP core, Verification IP, software drivers and hardware development platform. The IP core includes RMM-compliant synthesizable, OVM verified RTL. A Verification IP for RFFE is also available to accelerate verification and testing of your system. Software drivers are readily available in Linux and can be ported to a variety of different OS platforms.
"Proving hardware interoperability is the key to ensuring that products will function correctly in the real world," said Prakash Kamath, Vice President of Engineering at Arasan. "Arasan's RFFE Solution offers designers a seamless path to integrating RFFE functionality in their system."
