Murata offering software and hardware for a smart LED lighting system

Murata Manufacturing along with its products for LED lighting systems, such as communication modules, power supply modules, and sensors, has also developed the software for controlling these products.

Murata says there is a growing need for total solutions that consist of software for controlling LED lighting systems in addition to hardware such as communication modules, power supply modules, and sensors. LED lighting also can be integrated into the lighting method called "task - ambient lighting system," which provides localized lighting in work areas using a desk light while the ceiling lighting brightness is maintained at a low level. This method is very promising as a high energy - saving solution.

Key features of Murata's hardware and software combined lighting system are:
Power is saved by means of human motion sensors where they detect the presence or absence of a person and automatically switch the lights ON or OFF, thus saving energy by eliminating energy waste.
Improves convenience through implementation of short - distance wireless technology such as ZigBee.
Connecting lighting fixtures with the communication module enables using devices such as a mobile phone to operate the lighting.

The LED lighting system can receive signals from the communication module and easily perform ON/OFF control, dimmer/color changes, and other functions.
