LDO Regulator deliver 1 Amp with 0.5 V dropout

Diodes Inc. has unveiled the AP7361, a LDO regulator with quiescent current rating of 70uA. The applications suggested for AP7361 include LCD TVs, STBs and PCs. Providing a source of adjustable and fixed output voltages at an accuracy of +-1.0%, the regulator has a dropout voltage of just 150mV at 300mA and can deliver an output current up to 1A with 500mV dropout.

The AP7361's input voltage range is 2.2V to 6.0V; its output voltage is fully adjustable between 1.0V and 5.0V; and its fixed output voltage options of 1.0V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V and 3.3V are also available. The regulator's high ripple rejection of 65dB ensures supply current ripple is minimized in the event of input voltage transients or dramatic changes in load, while its fast transient response characteristics enable improvements in overall system response times to be achieved.

To help increase system reliability, the AP7361 integrates a comprehensive range of self-protection features, including over-current protection to guard against short-circuit, a current limiter to handle in-rush, and a thermal shutdown circuit to protect against excessive heat build-up.
