Flash type voice MCU for home appliances

To get rid off the disadvantage of OTP and Mask type technology based MCUs, Holtek has released new HT83F02 Flash type Voice device, where the code and voice data can be reprogrammed multiple times. The new HT83F02 features in-circuit programmable interface to program the device even after the device is soldered onto its application PCB. The internal SPI interface can also be used to program the contents of externally connected voice flash memories. Voice functions in multiple languages in home appliances such as washing machines, air-conditioners, ovens, and refrigerators are becoming common. HT83F02 is offering the designer to provide voice reprogramming feature in the design so that voice content can be made available in multiple languages. Using standard external SPI Flash Memory types, users can choose from a range of different memory sizes with flexibility according to different application requirements.

HT83F02 also includes an integrated Flash Program Memory, high speed SPI and I²C interfaces, a monophonic 12-bit voltage type DAC and a PWM driver which can directly drive 8 or 16 ohm speakers. With operating temperature range of -40°C~+85°C this chip is supported with tools for programming both program Memory and voice content. The range of applications suggested include home security products, anti-theft equipment and healthcare products along with household appliances.
