4-channel MOSFET driver ICs from Supertex for high speed and high output current apps

Supertex has unveiled the MD1820, MD1821 and MD1822, four channel, high voltage, high speed MOSFET driver ICs designed to drive complementary P- and N-channel MOSFETs in applications that require high speed and high output current, such as medical ultrasound imaging, nondestructive testing (NDT) equipment, and CCD-based products, including high-resolution cameras and scanners.

This family of drivers offers various output configurations. MD1820 has four non-inverting outputs while MD1821 has four inverting outputs. MD1822 has two inverting and two non-inverting outputs. All of them are available in a compact, 3mm x 3mm, 16-lead, QFN package, making them well suited for the space constraint of compact medical ultrasound applications. These ICs feature matched six-nanosecond rise and fall time and very low jitter which are essential to ensure accurate Doppler measurements and clearer imaging.

"The MD182x family of MOSFET drivers helps designers reduce PCB area and still provide high performance for space-constrained medical ultrasound applications," states Hernan DeGuzman, Vice President of Marketing for Supertex. "These drivers extend our commitment to further reduce the cost per channel in the transmit channels for medical ultrasound and NDT applications."
