New I²C interface clock IC from Holtek
Holtek has launched the new I²C interface clock IC, the HT1382. This device is suggested for applications such as voltmeters, water meters, gas meters, work attendance recording, gate entry recording, cash registers, MP3 players, digital photo frames and a range of office automation and home appliance products. The HT1382 supports both I²C and 3-wire interfaces and are packaged in both 8-pin DIP/SOP/MSOP and 10-pin MSOP formats.
The HT1382 is an improved version over its previously released devices, the HT1380 and HT1381. The IC includes an I²C interface, dual power automatic switching, software controlled frequency calibration, alarm and interrupt functions, frequency output functions as well as including 4 bytes of internal EEPROM for user custom usage. The device operates at a temperature range of -40~85°C.
The HT1382 fully integrates crystal capacitors in the oscillator circuit and therefore does not require the usual external oscillator capacitors. The HT1382 has good EFT and System ESD capabilities for good noise rejection.
The HT1382 includes a fully internal digital trimming function that uses an integrated temperature sensor to detect internal temperature changes and make the necessary digital trimming operations in accordance with the crystal temperature characteristics. The HT1382 provides a maximum frequency calibration range of ±192.276ppm or 64.071ppm with a minimal resolution of 3.052ppm or 1.017ppm
