Phihong introduces new series of 30W, 3 wire input desktop adapters

Phihong has developed the PSAC30U series of 30W, universal, three-wire input desktop adapter occuping 103mm x 42mm x 28.7mm and weighing 160 grams. These adapters are available in 5V, 12V, 24V and 56V versions, all of which are compliant to the ENERGY STAR EPS Version 2.0 as well as the United States Federal Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA). This device is suggested for grab-and-go portable equipment, peripherals, and gaming devices.

"The PSAC30U series combines energy efficiency and portability in its compact size with all the benefits of a traditional 30W power supply," said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong. "With our long history of designing products that exceed even the most stringent energy efficiency standards, it was only natural to combine that with low cost and low profile aesthetics to provide our customer base with the best possible product."

As per the ENERGY STAR EPS Version 2 guidelines, the PSAC30U meets a minimum average efficiency of 78.6% for the 5V model and 84% minimum for 12V, 24V, and 56V with a no-load power consumption of less than 0.3W. The adapters are also marked for CE and cUL/UL safety compliance and feature over-current, over-voltage and short circuit protection.

The low-profile, non-vented case is the smallest 30W desktop adapter from Phihong, has an IEC320 C14 3-wire input connector, and terminates with a 5.2 x 2.1mm DC center-positive barrel. The PSAC30U replaces the PSA31U 30W desktop adapter and is 10mm x 19mm x 5mm smaller and 30% lighter in weight.

Price: Starts at US$25.86
