TN/STN LCD driver ICs from Holtek

Holtek has expanded its TN/STN LCD Driver ICs HT162x series by introducing new parts numbered the HT16C22, HT16C23, HT16C24 and HT16K23. The HT16C22 is made available now the rest HT16C23, HT16C24 and HT16K23 are slated for end of 2010.

The HT16C22 features I2C interface, display RAM, an RC oscillator, operates from a voltage of 2.4V~5.5V, 1/2 and 1/3 bias voltages, a maximum display pixel count of up to 4 Commons x 44 Segments (for the 52-pin QFP package) and two frame scanning frequencies of 80Hz and 160Hz. The VLCD voltage can be adjusted by an external resistor but also offers an additional 16-level VLCD voltage, which is adjustable using instructions. Holtek says the HT16C22 supplies more display pixels when compared with other products of the same package type.

The HT16C22 is provided for use in LCD display control and driving and will find applications in areas such as home appliances, car peripherals, consumer products, industrial metering to name but a few. With high noise immunity and ESD protection capability, the device is also suitable for digital LCD electric metering, water meters, gas meters and so on.

Package: 4 Commons x 40 Segments for the 48-pin LQFP package, 4 Commons x 36 Segments for the 44-pin QFP package.
