36W, class 2, universal desktop adapters from Phihong

Phihong has developed the PSM36W-120TW2, an energy-efficient, 36W, Class 2 universal desktop adapter. The adapter has a single output of 12V and is compliant with the United States Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA), the EU Ecodesign (ErP) 2009/125/EC Directive level 2 Annex 1b, and the voluntary ENERGY STAR EPS Version 2.0 standard. The Level V-efficiency adapter is suitable for use in networking, portable equipment, peripherals and gaming machines.

"The PSM36W is the latest in a series of Level V power adapters that responds directly to a growing awareness of international efficiency standards and our OEM customers' need for cost- and energy-efficient, low-profile adapters," said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA.

The PSM36W-120TW2 desktop adapter's Class 2 design provides a low-profile with a non-vented case. The adapter provides over-current, over-load and short circuit protection and meet Class B EMI. The device has an ENERGY STAR Level V-compliant efficiency at 85% minimum and has a maximum output of less than 0.3W at no-load. The desktop adapter also bears safety marks from CE and cUL/UL.

Package:
Each unit measures 120mm x 50mm x 32.5mm and weights 250 grams. The adapter is terminated with a 11.2mm x 5.5mm x 2.1mm center positive DC barrel output connector.
