Triple output LED driver form Linear drives 24 500mA rated LEDs
Linear has released the H-grade version of the LT3496, a 2MHz DC/DC converter designed to operate as a three-channel constant current LED driver. Each of the device's three channels can drive up to eight 500mA LEDs in series, enabling it to drive up to 24 x 500mA LEDs at efficiencies up to 96%. The H-grade version operates up to a junction temperature of 150°C. The H-grade version has electrical specifications that are identical to the E-, I-versions. This device is suitable for automotive and industrial applications that are subjected to high ambient temperatures.
The key features of LT3496 includes:
1. Enables buck, buck-boost or boost configurations.
2. Each channel is operated by an independent True Color PWM signal thus delivering dimming ratios of 3,000:1.
3. The fixed frequency, current-mode architecture ensures stable operation over a wide range of supply and output voltages.
4. Provides a frequency adjust pin that enables the user to program the frequency between 330kHz and 2.1MHz.
5. It has a compact footprint for 50W LED applications.
Package: The LT3496HUFD comes in a 4mm x 5mm QFN-28 package.
Price: starts at each US$4.45 for 1,000 piece quantities.
