Vishay extends its Tantalum chip capacitors with 75V rating

Vishay's has extended its Tantamount Hi-Rel COTS T97 and industrial-grade 597D series offer chip capacitors with 75-V rating. These capacitors offer a capacitance of 10 µF and are available in the "R" case size. The T97 and 597D series provide reliable circuits with applied voltages between 25V to 40V.

The conformal-coated capacitors with wrap-around terminations feature a dual anode construction to ensure the low ESR. The 597D capacitors are optimized for industrial automation and control systems, while the T97 devices are designed for safety-critical applications such as those found in the military and aerospace industries, including dc-to-dc converters and power distribution in weapons and radar systems, avionics, and space-based electronics.

The T97 series offers designers a wide array of ratings combining the flexibility and convenience of a commercial product with the reliability needed in demanding applications. This series offers reliable screening options including Weibull grading, and surge current testing options in accordance with MIL-PRF-55365. This differentiates these devices from commercial- grade capacitors by featuring the required reliability and surge screening options necessary to ensure performance in Hi-Rel applications while still maintaining a high capacitance-voltage product, a figure of merit that measures the amount of energy a capacitor can store.

Some of the features of T97 and 597D series are:
1. Offers a capacitance range of 10 µF to 1500 µF and a voltage range from 4 V to 75 V in nine cases sizes, including the "V" case with a 2-mm profile.
2. This device offers ultra-low ESR values down to 0.015ohms at + 25 °C and 100 kHz, and high ripple currents to 4.1 A.

Operating temperature range: - 55 °C to + 85 °C, to + 125 °C.
