New PFC capacitors from TDK-EPC

TDK-EPC has extended its range of power factor correction (PFC) capacitors, the EPCOS PhaseCap Compact series, which now comprises of capacitor that cover voltages from 415 V AC, 440 V AC, 480 V AC and 525 V AC. These capacitors are also available in different dimensions such as 136 mm x 200 mm (D x H), 116 mm x 224 mm and 116 mm x 248 mm. The capacitance of these capacitors range from 3 x 27 µF and 3 x 251 µF. They can compensate reactive powers ranging from 5 to 33 kvar.

The other features of the EPCOS PhaseCap series are:
1. These capacitors can withstand an inrush current of up to 300 times the rated current.
2. The components are PCB-free.
3. Their self-healing design means that individual dielectric breakdowns do not destroy the capacitor.
4. Consists of integrated overpressure disconnector ensures additional safety.
5. The capacitors are designed for a continuous operating temperature of 65 °C (casing) and a service life of up to 180,000 hours.
6. It is suitable for Power factor correction in three-phase industrial networks.
