16-channel, bidirectional level translators from Maxim offers ±15kV ESD protection

Maxim has unveiled the MAX14548E/MAX14548AE, ±15kV ESD-protected, 16-channel, bidirectional level translators. These devices allow level shifting for data transfer in multivoltage systems by accepting a voltage range from 1.1V to 3.6V on the VL side and from 1.7V to 3.6V on the ±15kV ESD-protected VCC side. The MAX14548E/ MAX14548AE operates at a data rate of 100Mbps over the specified operating voltages. It is suggested for data transfer between low-voltage ASICs/programmable logic devices (PLDs) and higher-voltage systems such as camera modules, NAND flash memory, and LCD displays.

Other features of MAX14548E/MAX14548AE are:

1) Consists of a shutdown mode where the device enters into the high-impedance state thus decreasing the supply current to less than 1µA (typ).
2)These devices are compatible with 4mA input open-drain or push-pull drivers.
