New military temp grade flyback controllers from Linear

Linear has annonced the military temperature (MP) grade versions of the LTC3803/-3/-5 current mode flyback controllers, which it claims are specified and are 100% production tested over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. It is suggested for wide-input-voltage and high-input-voltage applications in industrial, telecom, military and automotive settings.

These controllers have an operating frequency of 200kHz or 300kHz thus minimizing low frequency noise generation over a wide range of load current. It has an integrated soft-start function that reduces inrush current and output voltage overshoot. It has a 100mV current sense threshold that allows the use of a small current sense resistor. An LTC3803/-3/-5-based power supply does not require any minimum output load for stable operation. The internal shunt regulator allows the LTC3803/-3/-5 to be powered simply from a high input voltage through a series resistor. The LTC3803 and LTC3803-3 feature a wide hysteresis undervoltage lockout that enables micropower startup and bootstrap biasing techniques.
