Cypress has improved the performance of capacitor sense interface devices
Cypress Semiconductor’s three new PSOCs (Programmable System on Chip) CY8C20234/334/434 are released in the market. These devices integrate Microcontroller and other peripheral functions to deliver performance equivalent of a system. These devices wired with a simple sensor of just a copper pad on the PCB will replace the mechanical switch type interface we see in mobile phones, mp3 players etc..
They respond to touch sense of the finger. The MCU-embedded PSOC does all the controlling and interfacing functions. These new PSOCs are far more efficient in terms of noise shielding, speed, power consumption and resolution.
