Freescale adds four new Digital Signal Controllers (DSC) to their family of 16 bit 56F8000 DSC family.

These four (56F8037, 56F8036, 56F8025 and 56F8023) new DSCs which can handle complex closed loop control algorithms are developed for applications involving motor control, switch mode power conversions, and LED based lighting systems. They can handle complex signals just like a DSP and can control motors and other power conversion appliances like a Microcontroller.

Freescale recommends this device to control sensor less motor in home appliances and power conversion applications such as Inverters and converters.

96MHz PWM with programmable fault capability
12-bit ADC with a 1.125 microsecond conversion rate
I2C, SPI and SCI bus interface
Up to 26 general-purpose input/output (GPIO)
Integrated voltage regulator and power supervisor
Four 16-bit timers
Operating Temperature of -40 to 125 Deg C

Wealth of free support tools are provided, which also includes a CodeWarrior permanent license for up to 16KB application code
