Micron leads the market by releasing 1Gbit DDR3 RAM.

Micron’s 1G bit DDR3 DRAM can transfer data at the rate of 1600 megatransfers per second (MT/S) at a clock frequency of 800 MHz. Micron says, a 100,000 page document can be bought to screen in a second.. The DDR3 operates down to 1.5 V, bringing down the power consumption by 30 %. Software applications such as Micorsoft’s Vista may drive the market for these kind of memories.
This device will be available in the output configurations (x4, x8 and x16) and compliant with JEDEC specs. Module densities of 512 megabytes (MB) through 4
gigabytes (GB) are available in FBDIMMs, UDIMMs, SODIMMs,
and RDIMMs modules.
