ASK/OOK receiver operating in frequency range of 300MHz to 450MHz
Maxim's new MAX7036 is a very-low-IF, superheterodyne receiver for receiving Amplitude Shift Keying /On Off Keying (ASK/OOK) data in the 300MHz to 450MHz frequency range. This IC packs Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), Phase Locked Loop (PLL), Mixer, 400kHz IF filter and Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI), and analog baseband, data-recovery circuitry. The MAX7036 is suggested for applications such as remote keyless-entry systems, car alarms, home security systems, remote controls, and garage door openers.
The built-in automatic gain control (AGC) circuit reduces the LNA gain by 30dB when the input signal power is large.
The MAX7036 operates from either a 3.3V or 5V power supply and draws less than 1µA (typ) in shutdown mode, and 5.5mA (typ) in receive mode. Fully specified over the -40°C to +105°C temperature range, the MAX7036 is available in a 20-pin TQFN package. Prices start at $2.00 (1000-up, FOB USA).
