14-bit dual-channel IF/ baseband receiver with ADCs and DACs
Linear Technology has launched LTM9002, a SiP packaged 14-bit dual-channel IF receiver module in LGA package measuring 11.25mm × 15mm. This module integrates dual 14-bit Analog-to-Digital converter (ADC) sampling up to 125Msps, anti-aliasing filters, fixed gain differential ADC drivers and 12-bit, trim Digital-to-Analog converters (DACs).
This receiver is suitable for wireless base stations implementing I/Q receivers, direct conversion receivers or multi-channel configurations including diversity receivers.
I
t is designed for digitizing wide dynamic range signals with an intermediate frequency (IF) up to 300MHz. The amplifiers allow either AC- or DC coupled input drive. Lowpass or bandpass filter networks can be implemented with various bandwidths.
The LTM9002 offers 90dB isolation at 140MHz input frequency. The overall gain is typically 26 dB and varies less than 0.1 dB between the two channels. The LTM9002 offers 66dB SNR and 76dB spurious free dynamic range (SFDR). Auxiliary DACs allow gain balancing between channels.
Supply and reference bypass capacitance is placed inside the module tightly coupled to the die, with no external capacitance required; the LTM9002 consumes approximately one-fourth the space of the discrete implementation. LTM9002 operates from a single supply voltage of 3 Volts and a separate output supply allows the outputs to drive 0.5V to 3.3V logic.
