ADI's new ISM-band RF transceivers for smart grid and home automation
Analog Devices has introduced new RF transceiver ICs ADF7022 and ADF7023 for smart grid and home and building automation applications. These transceivers relay wirelessly the measured electrical power parameters to utility systems.
ADF7022 and ADF7023 RF transceiver operate in the short-range ISM-band (industrial, science and medical) for remote data measurement. The other applications suggested are industrial monitoring and control, wireless networks and telemetry systems, security systems, medical devices and remote controls. ADF7022 RF transceiver has a special feature of integrated communications processor to support the io-homecontrol protocol used in remote home control systems.
ADF7022 is integrated with FSK/GFSK transceiver designed for operation at the three io-homecontrol channels of 868.25 MHz, 868.95 MHz and 869.85 MHz in the license-free ISM band. The ADF7022 is fully compliant to ETSI-300-200 and has enhanced digital baseband features such as media access, packet management/validation and packet retrieval to and from data buffer memory, thereby allowing the host microprocessor to remain in power-down mode.
