New eight channel and single channel DACs with internal voltage reference
New family of eight channel low-power digital to Analog Converter (DAC) family with internal reference for industrial applications in the bit width of 12 14 and 16 are launched by Texas instruments.
The new DAC8568 (16-bit), DAC8168 (14-bit) and DAC7568 (12-bit) are suggested for data acquisition systems, industrial process control and portable instrumentation.
The notable features and specifications of these DACs are,
1. Internal reference provides temperature drift performance of 2 ppm/°C (typ) up to
5 ppm/°C (max) in the entire operating range and offers high initial accuracy of +/-0.004% (typ)
2. Low output glitch energy of 0.1nV-s enabling DAC to produce glitch/transient-free output signal.
Operating temperature range: -40°C to +125°C
Package: TSSOP-14 or TSSOP-16
Price:
DAC8568: Each $13.20 for 1K pieces
DAC8168: Each $10.20 for 1K pieces
DAC7568: Each $8.20 for 1K pieces.

If the need is for a single channel DAC, recently MAXIM has launched two new 16 bit and a 12 bit DAC with internal voltage reference.
16-bit DAC MAX5138 and 12-bit DAC MAX5139 are pin-to-pin replaceable and also software-code compatible. Available in 3mm x 3mm package these devices are suggested for industrial process control and portable instrumentation applications, including communication systems, programmable logic controllers, servo loops, and automatic test equipment.
The key features of this DAC are,
1. Accept a 3-wire SPI-/QSPI-/MICROWIRE-/DSP-compatible serial interface
2. Low power consumption of 200nA
3. Integrated voltage reference with a temperature coefficient of 10ppm/°C
4. Feature internal buffer for load regulation and transition-glitch suppression for the DAC output
5. Pin-programmable, zero/midscale DAC output to ensure the output power to the desired state during loss-of-power event to provide additional safety for applications that drive valves or other transducers that need to be off during power-up.
6. The serial interface features a READY output for easy daisy-chaining of multiple MAX5138/MAX5139 devices and/or other compatible devices.
Operating temperature range: -40°C to +105°C
Availability: Now in samples
Price: MAX5138: Each $3.39 for 1K volumes
MAX5139: Each $1.60 for 1K volumes
