New USB power switch for hot swapping USB interface

Diodes Incorporated has launched a new AP21x6 family of dual Universal Serial Bus (USB) power switches for products such as set-top-boxes, LCD TV and monitors, HDTV, residential gateway and ADSL, laptop, server, and consumer electronics with USB port(s).

This power switch device is suggested for USB port protection, heavy capacitive loads, short-circuit protection and over-current protection.

These switches are suitable for both self powered as well as bus-powered USB devices used in hot swappable applications.

AP21x6 family is compliant with all USB standards and is available with both polarities of enable input. Also these are form, fit and function compatible with industry standard dual channel devices.
