HART-compliant modem IC integrates all components in single IC

Maxim Integrated Products has released the new DS8500, a single-chip, HART-compliant modem IC for modulating and demodulating 1.1kHz/2.2kHz FSK signals. This device integrates an ADC and state machine to implement the digital filter required to eliminate noise from the HART signal. It has built-in digital filter and need only a single-pole, lowpass/highpass external RC filter. DS8500 is suggested for space-constrained, 4-20mA current-loop applications

The other technical features:

1. DS8500 features a low, 285µA (max) active-mode current
2. Operates from supply voltage of 2.7V to 3.6V
