600 mW boost type DC/DC converter for diode biasing applications

Maxim Integrated Products has released DC/DC converter IC MAX15032 for special purpose diode (PIN, varactor, avalanche photo-diode) biasing. This small sized converter has a built-in high-voltage DMOS power switch. MAX15032 can boost the output voltage up to 36V and deliver 600mW (max) of power.
This device is suggested for applications where locally generated high voltage output is required in low-voltage type systems.
This charge-pump based IC can operate from a low input voltage range of 2.7V to 11V.
The MAX15032 is ideal for applications such as avalanche-photodiode, PIN-diode, and varactor-diode biasing, as well as LCD displays.

The MAX15032 utilizes a current-mode PWM architecture that switches at a constant 500kHz frequency to ease filtering requirements. A shutdown input allows for low power consumption.
