IP camera is becoming de facto standard in video surveillance products to provide security in offices and homes due to its advantages of connecting to computer systems through ethernet cables. To address this growing market of IP camera based video security surveillance systems, DSP specialist Texas Instruments (TI) has launched TMS320DM365 based two reference designs for IP based video camera system and for video recording.
Digital video signal processing is a combination of analog and digital signal processing. Texas Instruments is clearly the leader in both segments. The reference design based on Davinci DSP TMS320DM365, which the TI call as digital media processor, is powerful enough to handle high definition H.264 standard based video streamed by the IP cameras in the form of IP packets.
TI says the design is made at low BOM cost of
TMS320DM365 features range of video processing algorithms, which are quite well used for IP camera kind of applications. Some of them include video stabilization and face detection. The video decoder used in the reference design is TVP5158 with auto contrast and video noise filtering features.
So got to quickly design a IP camera based CCTV or any such video monitoring and recording applications better evaluate this product without failure.
