6A synchronous buck regulator with controller driver and MOSFET

Fairchild Semiconductor has released 6Amp synchronous buck regulator IC FAN21SV06 with built in controller, driver and power MOSFETs in 5mm x 6mm MLP package. This device is 95 % power efficient and works with input operating range from 6.5V to 24V.

FAN21SV06 has pre-bias startup to regulate the output cap discharge during soft-start conditions. The other protection features include soft start, under voltage lockout (UVLO), thermal shutdown, over voltage and over current protection to protect the system from fault conditions.

The FAN21SV06 also has a sync pin allowing synchronization to an external clock to reduce input ripple. This sync pin enables the system to operate more than one FAN21SV06 in a master/slave configuration and minimizes EMI-related issues.
