Ultrafast 200-400V, 10-60A recovery diodes for SMPS power supply and PFC applications

The new ultrafast recovery diodes called the HiPerFRED2 family from IXYS Corporation feature low forward voltage drop (Vf) and no "snappiness" for 200V, 300V and 400V ratings.
The HiPerFRED2 diode family is ideally suited for power applications with high switching frequencies (20-200 kHz) and especially in boost and free wheeling configurations such as in Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuits and Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). These diodes offer small reverse recovery current (IRR) and small stored charge (QRR), and soft recovery. Due to soft recovery nature of these diodes in turn off, they generate minimum EMI noise in switching and help the designer to get rid of snubber-circuit for the switching transistors.
The high voltage specifications of these fast diodes make them suit well for motor controllers, inverters, converters and other power control units used in hybrid and electrical cars/vehicles.

The HiPerFRED2 family have a Vrrm rating from 200 V to 400 V with different current values from 10A up to 60A. More than 40 products are available in various configurations and packages including the isolated ISOPLUS-packages of IXYS.
Some part type examples are DPG10I200PA (10A, 200V); DPG30C300PB (2x 15A, 300V); DPG60I400HA (60A, 400V); DPG120C300QB (2x 60A, 300V) and DPH30IS600HI (30A, 600V (series connected!).
