New 3.3V ARINC 429 terminal IC with high-speed host-bus interface
Holt Integrated Circuits announced the introduction of HI-3582A, a 3.3V single-chip ARINC 429 terminal IC which offers a high-speed 16-bit parallel interface, running up to four times faster than the existing HI-3582 design.
Some of the features are:
1. In addition to the faster host interface, the HI-3582A incorporates the same features as the HI-3582, including two receivers with 16 programmable labels each, a 32 x 32 receive FIFO and built-in analog line receiver.
2. The independent transmitter also has a 32 x 32 transmit FIFO and a built-in line driver.
3. The option of either programmable data or parity in the 32nd bit as well as the ability to unscramble the 32-bit word is also available.
4. Internal 37.5 Ohm resistors match the outputs to the ARINC 429 line driver impedance requirements.
5. Additional outputs are provided with lower internal resistance (HI-3583A) for applications that require external clamping circuits and resistance to protect the device from excessive voltages such as lightning strikes.
6. All outputs are ARINC 429 short-circuit compliant and are internally protected from over-voltage transients.
7. A version without the integrated line driver (HI-3584A) is also available for customers wishing to utilize an external line driver.
8. The HI-3582A/HI-3583A and HI-3584A are available in industrial or extended (-55oC to +125oC) temperature range.
