New system-on-chip controller for multifunction printers
Conexant Systems expanded its imaging portfolio with a new system-on-chip (SoC) controller for low- to mid-range inkjet and laser multifunction printers (MFPs) with fax, scan, and color and monochrome copy capabilities. The CX92125 includes support for color LCDs and connectivity options such as Ethernet and wireless networking. It shares a common architecture with the Conexant's CX92235 MFP controller, and can be bundled with Conexant's fax modem technology to create a 4-in-1 solution.
1. The CX92125 has features including support for three segmented contact image sensors, and an image processor based to optimally process images without degrading system performance.
2. The SoC is based on an ARM core and includes additional imaging hardware blocks that enable fast raster image processing for page description languages, which improves complex text and graphics laser-printing speeds.
3. Conexant's imaging product portfolio includes MFP SoCs for inkjet, laser, and photo printers.
4. Conexant also offers fax SoCs and data-pump solutions, and system solutions for digital photo frames.
Package: The CX92125 is packaged in a 289-pin ball grid array (BGA)
Availability:
1. Samples of the SoC are available now, with volume production scheduled in the second calendar quarter of 2009.
2. The company also offers a complete hardware and software development kit that allows manufacturers to reduce costs and speed time to market.
