Hearing aid component DCU scroller from Pulse

Pulse, a branch of Technitrol Company has introduced new hearing aid component, the DCU Scroller. Designed for both behind-the-ear (BTE) and in-the-ear (ITE) hearing devices, the new volume control has a housing diameter of 3.8mm (0.15 in.), enabling simple, discreet volume adjustments to the hearing device.

The new digital control unit comes with a lowered flange for BTE mounting and a flush flange for ITE mounting. The DCU Scroller is a relative position indicator, meaning it emits pulses only when rotated. With 10 pulses per scroller rotation, sound attenuation is optimized for both fast and accurate volume adjustments by the user. Details about the DCU Scroller are available on data sheet MT1044A1208 which can be downloaded from Pulse website. The short videos of the DCU Scroller are also available at the website http://www.pulseeng.com/index.php

"With its dramatically reduced size, the scroller fits well with the new slim and small BTEs and is barely detectable with ITE hearing devices," said Morten Wagner, Pulse product line manager, Electromechanical Components. "Small size plus linear activation mode make the DCU Scroller the ultimate in discreet audio control."
