Automotive-grade, quad-output DC/DC regulator and controller
Maxim Integrated Products introduced the MAX17019, a high-input-voltage, quad-output controller for automotive applications. This device saves space and cost by integrating four independent voltage outputs in a small single package. Capable of operating up to 38V, the MAX17019 is ideal for automotive battery-powered devices. The device includes
1. Main-stage step-down controller
2. 3A P-P step-down regulator
3. 5A P-P step-down regulator
4. 2A source/sink linear regulator.
The step-down converters use a peak-current-mode, fixed-frequency control scheme to provide an easy-to-implement architecture that does not sacrifice transient response. This architecture also supports peak-current-limit protection and pulse-skipping operation to maintain high efficiency under light-load conditions.
