Software multimedia codecs for ARM processors

VisualOn, Inc has announced a new set of industry standard software multimedia codecs optimized for the ARM NEON technology. These codecs are designed to perform far better than hardware-based multimedia solutions and DSP implementations.
Developed for the ARM Cortex(TM)-A8 processor with ARM NEON technology, VisualOn's multimedia codecs were optimized using the ARM RealView Development Suite 3.1 Professional tools. Utilizing the benefits of ARM NEON technology, VisualOn says these video codecs perform three to six times better than an equivalent implementation for an ARM11 family processor.
