800V zero crossing triac photocoupler for solid state relays
Toshiba America Electronic Components has unveiled new triac photocoupler line with two new zero-crossing, triac-output photocouplers with built-in noise immunity and peak off-state output voltage of 800 volt (V), housed in 6-pin DIP packages. The triac-outputs are used to control current in both the forward and reverse direction. These devices feature high isolation voltage up to 5000 Vrms (min.). Targeted applications include office equipment, home appliances, solid-state relays and triac drivers.
The two zero-crossing devices, TLP3782 and TLP3783, provide optical isolation between logic and the AC current to optimize performance, improve reliability, reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) and provide circuit protection from current surges. Each of the triac photocouplers consists of a gallium arsenide (GaAs) infrared emitting diode and a zero crossing turn-on photo-triac. The two devices meet UL and reinforced insulation class VDE international safety standards1 .
The TLP3782 and TLP3783 provide impulse noise immunity (VN) of 1500V (typ.) for applications that may have higher external noise. The devices feature trigger LED current (IFT) of 10mA and 5mA, respectively, input forward current of 30mA, and on-state current (IT) of 0.1 Arms.
Price: TLP3782: 0.50$, TLP3783: 0.55$ each for sample quantity
