Programmable clock multiplier for Networking and consumer applications
ON Semiconductor launched the NB3N3020, low phase noise, programmable clock multiplier, which can generate up to 26 different clock frequencies from single input source. It offers also best-in-class jitter performance with period jitter of 5 Pico seconds (ps). The device can generate an LVPECL clock, as well as LVCMOS clock on the same device.
Some of the key features include:
1. It has three tri-level LVCMOS single ended select pins that set one of 26 possible clock frequencies.
2. Has a wide output frequency range from 8 Megahertz (MHz) to 210 MHz
3. It takes a 5.0-27 MHz fundamental mode parallel resonant crystal or a 2.0-210 MHz LVCMOS single ended clock source as input.
4. Can generate a differential LVPECL output and a single ended LVCMOS output at a selectable clock output frequency, which is a multiple of the input clock frequency.
5. The LVCMOS output enable (OE) tri-states clock outputs when low, allowing system designers to dynamically control the presence of clock timing in their systems.
