ISM-band system-on-chips integrates RF, microcontroller and ADC
Semtech Corp. in collaboration with the Hager Group launched the SX1282, first platform of ISM-band system-on-chips (SoC) that integrates RF, acquisition and processing capabilities.
This new platform combines dual UHF-band ISM transceivers, a MCU, and a variable 10 to16-bit analog-to-digital converter, to deliver a single-chip solution that can operate from a single 1-volt battery cell.
The devices are ideally suited for low-voltage applications such as active-RFID, home automation and energy harvesting.
Some of the features are:
1. Offers longer battery life.
2. Can communicate on both the 400 MHz & 800 MHz ISM bands simultaneously
3. Can deliver up to 6.4 MIPS of processing power, while drawing less than 1.3 mA of supply current.
4. 1-32 kB of low-power RAM
5. Analog sensor front-end interface
6. Ultra-low supply voltage range: 0.8V to 1.7V
7. 8-bit CoolRISC processor core w/DSP H/W acceleration
Packaging: 5x5mm 32-pin QFN package and 7x7mm 60-pin QFN package
