250-mA Low Drop Out voltage regulator with low 35-µA ground current
SiP21110, 250-mA LDO voltage regulator from Vishay features a low 35-µA typical ground current at 1mA load.
The device is designed to maintain regulation while delivering 330-mA typical peak current for systems with a high surge current upon turn-on. During start-up, an active pull-down circuit improves the output transient response and regulation. In shutdown mode, the output automatically discharges by connecting the output to ground through a n-channel MOSFET.
Some of the features are,
1. Adjustable output from 1.3 V to 5 V with an external resistor network
2. A high 1.0 % output voltage accuracy at +25 °C.
3. Provides stable operation with very small, low-ESR ceramic output capacitors, reducing board space and component cost.
4. Low peak-to-peak transient output voltage with fast recovery time
5. High PSRR while consuming a minimum of current
6. Thermal overload protection (+160 °C typical)
7. Built-in short circuit protection (500 mA typical)
8. 1-µA maximum shutdown current at +85 °C
9. Low ground current helps to extend battery run times between charges in battery-operated power systems.
10. Operates over a junction temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C.
The device is suitable for battery-operated power systems and portable electronics, such as cell phones and wireless handsets, PDAs, digital cameras, pagers, wireless modems, and medical handheld devices.
