New dual, 12-bit, 1.25Msps, simultaneous-sampling ADCs from MAXIM

Maxim Integrated Products introduced the MAX1377/MAX1379/MAX1383 dual, 12-bit, 1.25Msps, simultaneous-sampling ADCs. These new ADCs features an independent serial peripheral interface (SPI) for host communication, allowing the fastest clock required on each interface to be reduced to 20MHz while supporting the maximum sampling rate.
It is also possible to combine the two data streams to use only a single SPI port if the sampling rate is slower or if the host's SPI interface can operate in excess of 40MHz.

The other key features include:
1. These devices allow twice as much data to be transferred at a given clock rate, thus broadening the choice of host processors.
2. The inputs can be configured as either four single-ended or two differential channels.
3. To maximize data transfer, each ADC features a dedicated serial output.
4. Ideal for motor-control, rotary-resolver and I/Q-sampling applications.
5. Fast simultaneous sampling.
6. DC accuracy of ±1.25 LSB INL, max and ±1 LSB DNL, max
7. AC performance of 71dB SINAD
8. The devices are fully specified over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range.

Packaging: 20-pin TQFN package
Size: 5mm x 5mm
Pricing: start at $4.98 (1000-up, FOB USA).
