Industry's fastest two-bit auto direction detection translator from Fairchild

Fairchild Semiconductor launched the FXLA102, a two-bit, low voltage dual supply auto direction detection translator. Fairchild claims that the new product is twice as fast as alternate solutions.

This translator has a built-in automatic direction control, which allows the device to sense and control the direction the data should flow, without a direction control pin. This feature reduces design complexity by eliminating the need to program the GPIO for direction control.

Main features include:

1. A propagation delay of 5ns
2. Data rate of 80Mbps
3. Utilizes lead-free (Pb-free) terminals
4. Eliminates direction control pins, saving board space

These features provide designers a voltage translation solution that minimizes the delay in the timing budget of signal path applications such as notebooks, cell phones, GPSs and displays.
