7400 series Xeon server processors from Intel
Intel Corporation launched new 7400 Series of server processors based on 45nm high-k process technology and Hafnium based transistors for lower power consumption.
These server chips are made up of six processing cores and comes with 16MB of shared cache memory.
Platforms based on these processors can scale up to 16 processor "sockets" to deliver servers with up to 96 processing cores inside, providing super scalability, ample computing threads, extensive memory resources and reliability for enterprise data centers. The device family offers frequencies up to 2.66 GHz and power levels down to 50 watts. Another main advantage is that the new processor series is compatible with Intel's existing Xeon 7300 series platforms and the Intel 7300 chipset with memory capacity up to 256GB.
Pricing: ranges from $856 to $2,729 for Xeon 7000 Sequence in 1K quantities.
