Vishay launches new high-bright amber and yellow LEDs
Vishay Intertechnology has announced availability of new high-intensity amber and yellow power SMD LEDs with driving currents up to 400 mA. VLMK82 and VLMY82 provide low thermal resistance of 20 K/W and optical power from 5600 mcd to 14000 mcd for thermal-sensitive applications.
Packaged in low profile (0.75 mm) CLCC-2 flat ceramic package, these LEDs are designed for space-limited applications where thermal management is a key consideration.
The targeted applications are backlighting and illumination in automotive and transport, consumer, and general applications. Typical end products include retail and window displays; signage and graphics; household appliances; and automotive instrument panels and exterior lighting, such as brake lights and turn signals.
Based on AlInGaP technology, the amber VLMK82 LEDs offer optical power from 7100 mcd to 14000 mcd and a typical luminous flux of 28000 mlm. The yellow VLMY82 devices provide optical power from 5600 mcd to 11200 mcd and a luminous flux of 26000 mlm.
Both LEDs feature optical efficiency of 40 lm/W at 100 mA, a luminous intensity ratio per package unit of IV max/IV min = 1.6, and 60° half-intensity angle.
The new devices are compatible with IR-reflow solder processes, in accordance with CECC 00802 and J-STD-020C. Preconditioned according to JEDEC Level 4 standards, the CLCC-2 flat package is lead (Pb)-free and RoHS-compliant. The LEDs are automotive qualified AEC-Q101 and offer an ESD-withstand voltage up to 2 kV in accordance with JESD22-A114-B.
Availability: Now in sample and production volumes
