Texas Instrument's new four-channel SerDes Device
Texas Instruments introduced a four-channel serializer/deserializer integrated circuit TLK3134 that enables high-speed, bi-directional, point-to-point data transmission with up to 30 Gbps. The device can also be configured either as a XAUI or 10 GFC transceiver. This multi-rate transceiver supports a wide data bandwidth range from 600 Mbps to 3.75 Gbps per serial lane.
Some of the main features of this device are,
1. Supports independent channel SERDES operation modes in 8/10 bit data nodes (TBI and 8 bit + control)
2. Serial side transmit de-emphasis and receive adaptive equalization to allow extended back-plane reach
3. Full data-path loop-back capability (serial/parallel side)
4. XGMII/GMII/RGMII: Source and data centered I/O timing modes
5. XAUI align character skew support of 30 bit times at chip pins
6. JTAG: IEEE 1149.1/1149.6 Test interface
7. 90 nm advanced CMOS technology
8. Asymmetric RX/TX rates supported in independent channel modes
9. Ambient operating temperature of -40°C to 85°C
Package: 289-pin BGA
Price: $35.00 in 1K quantities
