Microchip has released IEEE802.15.4 P2P wireless stack.
Microchip Technology has made available to wireless embedded developers a short-range low power wireless stack based on IEEE802.15.4. This proprietary stack works closely similar Zigbee stack. Zigbee stack is the most popular wireless standard for personal area networking and is also based on IEEE802.15.4.
Microchip has said, this stack can be freely downloaded from its website www.microchip.com/wireless
This stack is a complementary offer for design engineers who are using Microchip’s just released 2.4GHz wireless transceiver (MRF24J40MA) in their embedded short-range low power wireless network design.
This stack called MiWi P2P supports star and peer to peer wireless-network topologies. The memory size of the code falls around 3KB.
The other supported features avaialable in this stack are, sleeping-node, active-scan, and energy detect.
Microchip also provides Zigbee stack along with this MiWi
