Symphony DSP family from Freescale implement Dolby volume levels
DSP designers can now implement multi-channel Dolby volume levels from multiple audio sources in Symphony DSP family from Freescale. The DSP56300 and DSP56700 processors use psycho-acoustic model of human hearing to perform measurement, analysis and control of perceived volume levels.
Along with audio leveling, Dolby Volume continually analyzes the audio and properly balances low, middle and high frequencies to maintain the nuances to enhance the sound quality.
The DSP56300 and DSP56700 processors have 24-bit DSP core with 48-bit double precision capability and are designed exclusively for audio electronics systems
The applications such as A/V receivers, surround-sound processors, digital TVs, speaker systems and Home Theater in a Box (HTiB) products will get benefited from this feature.
Availability: The approved Dolby volume licensees can implement Dolby volume in Freescale's DSP56371 and DSP5672x.
