Chipscale transformer based device from Analog Devices for data and power isolation.

Analog Devices add a series of four-channel device that isolate both data and power. These devices use innovation isolation technology, which is transform based rather than optical isolation normally used in Opto-isolator.

The advantages of ADuM540x family listed by Analog Devices in its press release are,
· Reduction in board space due to their small 10 mm x 10 mm surface mount package
· Safety approved design
· The chipscale transformers used inside this chip can support higher data rates and lower power consumption.
· Increase in component life as compared to LEDs and photodiodes.

Some of the key specifications are,
· The on-board isoPower isolated dc-to-dc converter provides up to 500 mW of regulated, isolated power.
· Operates from a DC Voltage of either 5.0-V or 3.3-V.
