Altera is offering hot swapping capacities for their Stratix II GX FPGAs
Altera Corp has announced availability of plug and play feature in the Stratix II GX FPGA families and the supported software.
This technology is a combination of low-power linear adaptive equalization technology, Adaptive Dispersion Compensation Engine (ADCE) and the hot- swapping capability.
They adjust automatically for the interconnect loss and environmental variations.
This solution adjusts equalizer settings for each of up to 20 receivers found in the Stratix II GX FPGA family to provide the best eye opening for non-return-to-zero (NRZ) signals operating between 2.5 Gbps and 6.375 Gbps.
Design support: This feature is available in beta versions of new Quartus II
Availability: Oct 07
