New fast to design High Bright LED Controller from Cypress can light 16 LEDs

LED has gained a leading position in architectural illumination and signage boards. It offers significant advantages over other lighting systems, mainly power saving, color control and life.
The difficult part is, it needs a little complex electronic circuitry to achieve quality lighting. Cypress Semiconductor is eying this market by releasing a 16 channel HB LED controller with a host of support features. This new family CY8CLEDXX also called as EZ-Color comes with software called PSoC express, through which the designer can input the specifications such as LED selection, and color selection, the rest of it software will take care. The software has built in algorithms to take care of manufacturers' bin specifications and temperature feedback to maintain the set color. This controller family is based on a technology called PrISM (Precise Illumination Signal Modulation) to reduce low-frequency flicker and electro-magnetic interference (EMI). These controllers can also be programmed for battery charging, motor control or any such voltage control functions.

To speed up the design Cypress is also providing evaluation kit coded CY3261A-RGB for $149.
