New 16bit microcontroller from Renesas packs Ethernet controller

The new 16 bit microcontroller, H8S/2472F from Renesas has built in Ethernet controller. 16-bit H8S/2600 CPU core based H8S/2472F integrates IEEE802.3 standard1 compliant media access controller (MAC) to connect at 10/100 Mbps.

The other features of this new unique device are,
It has on-chip functions such as USB (full speed), I2C bus interface x 6 channels, Low Pin Count (LPC) bus x 3 channels, Data transfer control (DTC), Event counter (EVC) x 16 channels, 8-bit timer (TMR) x 4 channels, 16-bit free-running timer (FRT), Watchdog timer (WDT) x 2 channels, Serial communication interface (SCI) x 2 channels, A/D converter (10-bit resolution) x 8 channels and Synchronous serial communication unit (SSU).
On chip flash size is 512 Kbytes and RAM size is 40 Kbytes. Can work from supply voltage of 3.3V and operate at frequency of 34 MHz.

The targeted applications are, Temperature/voltage control systems, and System control.
