Texas Instrument new DC/DC power IC can charge mobile phone from a single solar cell

Texas Instruments (TI) new DC/DC boost converter TPS61200 can take power source from solar cell or any such low voltage power sources such as micro fuel cell. The input voltage range is 0.3 V to 5.5 V. Can start full load at 0.5 V input DC voltage. The power efficiency is 90%. It can take on current loads up to 1.35 A.

Very interesting product for an engineer who is thinking to put a built in solar charger inside a cellphone.
