Altera releases Quartus II design software version 7.0 supporting 65 nm cyclone III family of FPGAs

Altera has released the upgraded version of Quartus II design software. This new version -7.0 supports cyclone- III family of FPGAs from Altera. The other features included are TimeQuest timing analyzer, incremental compilation, PowerPlay power analysis and optimization tools, SOPC builder and DSP Builder tools for system level design.

There are two editions, subscription and web. The subscription edition is getting shipped to active subscribed customers. The free quartus II web edition software can be downloaded at, https://www.altera.com/support/software/download/altera_design/quartus_we/dnl-quartus_we.jsp.

The subscription cost is $2000 for node locked PC license. Quartus II design software supports major operating systems, including Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 2000, UNIX (Solaris 8 and 9), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 and 4.0, and SUSE Enterprise Linux 9.
In a separate press release Altera also announced cyclone III family of low cost 65 nm FPGAs getting shipped to customers.
