Samsung's new 8GB NAND flash is shipping in samples to mobile-phone makers

Samsung has announced new high-density memory card solution for mobile phones. Mobile phones with this new NAND flash solution consist of 8GB NAND flash, Multi Media Card (MMC) controller and the code. This record level of memory for mobile phones makes it more than a PC of late 90s. The amount of video data it can store and play is simply great. Well this is still Moore's law period. We are going to see lot more. The great features now will become obsolete in a year or two. Now Samsung is sitting in the driver seat of all kinds of memories advancements, most of the time it's industry's record-breaking announcements.
This NAND solution is called moviNAND. It saves size and design time and also the data access speed are faster than the solutions from other flash vendors.
